CarSafe and CarSafe Motorsports announced Feb. 20, the introduction of the “CarSafe Elite Hero Challenge,” which will give one lucky driver the opportunity to win a grand prize of $10,000. NHRA Sells Naming Rights to Gainesville Raceway

NHRA announced Feb. 16, that Uni-Select USA and its Auto-Plus network of automotive retail stores have acquired the naming rights to the NHRA-owned and -operated drag racing facility in Gainesville, Florida.

Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville will host the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals presented by NAPAFilters.com Mar. 8-11, the third stop in the 23-race NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. One of NHRA’s “major” events, the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals presented by NAPAFilters.com serves as the East Coast opener for the series featuring Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and the season-opener for Pro Stock Motorcycle. Summit Continues Sponsorship of ADRL Top Sportsman

AAA Insurance Named Title Sponsor for NHRA at Gateway

NHRA announced today an expansion of its long-standing relationship with the Automobile Club of Southern California, as the company has agreed to become the title-rights sponsor of the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis. Summit Steps Up ADRL Support

The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced Feb. 6, that Summit Racing Equipment will retain its status as the Official High Performance Source of the ADRL for the 2012 ADRL Tour and will return as the title sponsor for the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson, scheduled for Sept. 28-29, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Additionally, Summit Racing will pay out contingency to each eligible winner and runner-up in each ADRL professional class (Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock, Pro Modified and Top Sportsman). Continue Reading »

2012 NHRA Television Schedule Announced

NHRA announced Feb. 3, that the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series will again be showcased on ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports television, in 2012.

The 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series television schedule features Sunday night prime-time slots on ESPN2 or ESPN for nearly every event.  All six of the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship playoff events are scheduled to offer eliminations coverage in prime time. The NHRA works with ESPN each year to provide qualifying and finals programming with the best possible air times.  The prestigious Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, Aug. 29 – Sept. 3, will again feature 11 hours of wall-to-wall coverage, including complete coverage of final eliminations on Monday, Sept. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. ET.
