The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (WCOPMA) will begin its 4th season this upcoming weekend (June 24-25), at Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho, as part of the track’s famous “Fox Hunt” event.

After an unusually long offseason WCOPMA racers are looking forward to hitting the track with the best of the best on the West Coast. It is shaping up to be a great event with weather temps expected to be in the mid-70s to low-80s and about a dozen cars confirmed to vie for a spot in the eight-car field.

Past WCOPMA champion Bret Williamson will be making the trip with his ’53 Studebaker, as well as Good Guys president Marc Meadors who recently ripped off the quickest pass ever for a West Coast-based Pro Mod at 5.83 seconds in testing his ’69 Camaro at California’s Infineon Raceway.

Additionally, legendary Pro Mod racer John Scialpi will be in attendance and long time Super Chevy Show Nitro Coupe racer and champion Dan Nickelson will also be making the tow with his new screw-blown Viper.

Of course, Rod Burbage will be there after already dipping into the 5-seconds zone earlier this year and Jay Diedrich will be making the first 1/4-mile passes with his new 70.5 Camaro after debuting it in the Pro Extreme class with the ADRL at Maple Grove, PA, and Topeka, KS. The list continues with heavy hitting names such as Rod Pearce, Lee Smith, Dan Myers and others.

To follow along with the action, check for live results posted on the WCOPMA website at www.WestCoastOutlawProMods.com, as well as on the WCOPMA Facebook page, too.

The gates open at 11 a.m. on Friday and the first qualifying pass is scheduled for 7 p.m. that night. Gates will open again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning with the second WCOPMA qualifying session scheduled for 2:30; then it’s into elimination rounds which are scheduled for 6:30, 8:15 and 9:45 p.m.
