GAYLEN SMITH CRASH SEQUENCE
During the opening round of eliminations at the ADRL Independence Drags V in Topeka, Kansas, Texas-based Pro Extreme driver Gaylen Smith had a massive engine explosion, lost traction in the fluids released by the engine, and slapped the left-hand guardwall before heading back across the track. Fortunately, the veteran driver was able to get the car stopped before it made impact with the opposing retaining wall, and emerged from his ’53 Corvette unharmed.
