ADRL Extreme Pro Stock Power Rankings
Extreme Pro Stock Power Rankings (After 2 of 10 Races)
| RANK (LW) | TEAM | RECORD | COMMENT | |
| 1 (1) | Goforth Racing | 10-2 | By the slimmest of margins, Cary Goforth holds on to the number-one spot in the DragIllustrated.com Power Rankings only because he outqualified Pete Berner by placing 3rd at Topeka and ran quicker in the semis—where Berner beat Goforth with a holeshot. A good outing in Michigan would go a long way toward cementing Goforth as the dominant XPS driver. | |
| 2 (2) | Summit Racing | 10-3 | Despite a 7th-place start in Topeka, Pete Berner maintains his 2nd-place Power Rankings status based on improving his ET each time through eliminations before throwing away his chance at the event win by leaving before the tree was activated in the final against Scott Hintz. No doubt an uncharacteristic mistake by the current points leader, but Berner can’t afford any repeat performances in order to retain the position through the second half of the season. | |
| 3 (6) | JM Racing | 5-4 | The champ is back! Or so it seemed as 2010 Extreme Pro Stock World Champion John Montecalvo qualified number one with a 4.12 that would hold up as low ET for the Topeka event. He looked strong through two rounds of eliminations, too, before his ’09 Cobalt got out of the groove in the semis, allowing Scott Hintz to advance. Now “Monte” has to put some solid back-to-back event performances together to move up in points and the DI.com Power Rankings. | |
| 4 (4) | Billy Dingman Racing | 4-3 | Tony Gillig put in another solid performance at Topeka as the new driver for 2009 XPS championship team owner Billy Dingman. After qualifying 8th to secure that crucial, last lane-choice advantage, Gillig posted competitive numbers in round one and though he fell to John Montecalvo in the second stanza, he had the quickest losing ET of the round. | |
| 5 (NR) | Hintz Racing | 4-0 | At first glance it looks like Scott Hintz has a perfect record this year—and he does if all you count are elimination rounds that he’s shown up for—but he sat out racing in the season opener with breakage after qualifying 7th at Houston, then suffered a DNQ at the next race in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was a no show for the Reading, Pennsylvania event. At Topeka, though, a 5th-place start followed by running progressively quicker through each round of eliminations until setting his quickest ET of the weekend in the final gave Hintz his career-first ADRL win, along with his inaugural appearance in the DI.com Power Rankings. | |
![]() Brian Gahm |
6 (7) | Brian Gahm Racing | 4-3 | After losing in the opening round at each of the ADRL’s first two races this year, Brian Gahm got back in the game with a final-round berth at Reading, Pennsylvania, before the race was called short due to curfew. Regardless, in Topeka Gahm continued his charge with a 6th-place start and strong first-round win before tire shake put an end to his day in round two. With six XPS race titles, Gahm is the winningest driver in the class and if his consistency returns he may well add to that total before year’s end. |
![]() Elijah Morton |
7 (5) | Morton Motorsports | 4-4 | Elijah Morton has been a .500 hitter through all four races held so far this season, winning round one of eliminations and losing round two. He showed excellent promise in Topeka with a 2nd-place qualifying effort, his best of the year, but until the power shows up consistently on race day it’s going to be difficult for Morton to move up in the points or the DI.com Power Rankings. |
![]() Trevor Eman |
8 (10) | Team Aruba | 3-3 | Trevor Eman continued as a second-half-of-the-field qualifier at Topeka, placing 13th, and he received a first-round gift in Dean Goforth’s late leave, but Eman responded in round two with his best run of the weekend. Both he and Scott Hintz ran exactly 4.181 to the eighth-mile stripe, but a better reaction time by Hintz gave him the win. Still, Eman proved he can step up when needed and that’s what counts in the long run. |
![]() Dean Goforth |
9 (3) | Goforth Racing | 3-4 | Dean Goforth qualified 4th and should have won the first round at Topeka, but a sleepy .162 reaction time did him in against Trevor Eman and sent him for a tumble in the DI.com Power Rankings. Goforth’s new Haas-built car has proven it has the power to get the job done—now the driver just has to hold up his end of the bargain on race day. |
![]() Richie Stevens Jr. |
10 (9) | CarSafe Motorsports | 4-4 | At West Palm Beach, Richie Stevens Jr. made it all the way to the final in just his second ADRL appearance, but at Topeka, for the second-straight race Stevens made a first-round exit. He’ll need a better showing at Martin, Michigan, to remain a factor in the DI.com Power Rankings. |

500 inch or Mountain Motor, this class is what I come to ADRL races to see. It will be just a matter of time before my homeboy Pete Berner (Chicago in the house) starts to layeth the smack down on some of these guys!! So every body in XPS better know their role!
I show up to win races that's my role! Pete is one of our dearest friends but he aint the only guy out there running fast. I can think of sixteen good cars that show up for round one expecting to win. That being said how about some up to date power rankings.
How come Petes the only one not smiling?
